What it costs

Our prices, on the page.

Most shredding companies make you ring for a number and tell you nothing at all before you do. Here is what is flat, what we quote, and what the quote depends on — so the figure you get on the phone is one you can check.

What it costs

One price is flat. The rest we work out.

Drop-off

$10

per box, brought to us

Bring your boxes to 8224 SW 3rd Street and we shred them here. No account, no contract, no minimum, and the same ten dollars whoever you are. Call before you set off so somebody is there to meet you.

How drop-off works

Everything else

Quoted

per job, before you sign

Console service, purges, hard drives and shred days. Most of what a visit costs is the driving, so the honest number depends on where you are — and you get it up front, not on an invoice three months in.

What the quote depends on

Quoted per job

What the quote depends on.

The rest depends on volume, access and how far the truck is driving. We could publish a range wide enough to always be right, but you would still have to call and the number would be worth nothing. So we quote it, we tell you before you sign, and it does not move afterwards.

  • Scheduled console service. A console sits in your office like a filing cabinet; we supply it at no charge and empty it on whatever cycle your volume needs. What a visit costs depends on how far we come and whether there is anyone near you to build a stop around — a business on an established route costs less to serve than one we drive out to on its own. We would rather quote you the real number than publish an average and adjust it afterwards. How scheduled service works.
  • Purge and bulk clean-out. Tell us roughly how many boxes and where they are, and we come back with a firm figure — not a range.
  • Hard drive destruction. Priced on drive count and location. It can usually run on the same visit as your paper, which is cheaper than booking twice.
  • Community shred days. Depends on turnout and how many trucks you need. More on shred days.

Working it out

How to compare a shredding quote.

Prices in this industry are quoted in different units on purpose, which makes them hard to line up. Here is how to do it honestly.

Per box or per pound?

Office supply shops and mailbox stores usually price by the pound. We price a drop-off by the box. A standard banker's box of paper runs somewhere around thirty pounds, so if you are comparing against a per-pound rate, multiply it out before you decide. Bring the boxes and we will weigh up the difference with you.

What is not in the price?

Nothing. There is no fuel surcharge, no environmental fee and no minimum-weight adjustment turning up on a later invoice, and no automatic annual increase written into the agreement. A low headline rate that fills out afterwards is an easy way to win a contract and a fast way to lose a customer.

Why is the console price not on this page?

Because it is not the same for everybody, and putting one number up would mean quietly overcharging some customers to cover others. Most of what a visit costs is the driving. If you are on a route we already run, that is cheap. If you are the only stop for forty miles, it is not, and no headline figure makes that untrue. Call and we will tell you your number, and it will not change later.

Do the containers cost anything?

No. Locking consoles and bins come at no charge as part of a scheduled service. You are paying for the visit, not renting furniture.

Is a purge cheaper than a schedule?

For a one-off backlog, almost always. For paper you generate every week, a schedule costs less than repeatedly booking one-off visits, and it is the difference between a filing room and a problem. Plenty of our accounts do a purge first and then go onto a schedule.

How much shredding do we actually need?

If you are not sure, start monthly with one console and see how full it is. It is easy to move up, and two visits will tell you more than any estimate we could make over the phone.
